An ongoing part of my role at Data Zoo has been to redesign the website from the ground up. This is to better highlight Data Zoo's capabilities and make the user journey more coherent.

This process starts with myself, the developer, and a key member of the product team getting together and breaking down any current page or issue that we will be working on. We will identify the things that we like, dislike, can use, or need to rework.

I will then make a rough wireframe for the content team to add all the copy and image requests to. From here, I can go away and make developer-ready Figma files. These Figma files are all the same size and cover multiple break points for desktop, tablet, and mobile.

In order to increase efficiency in building out these pages and to make sure the pages are consistent, I developed a UI design system that houses all the assets, fonts, and sizes used across our webpages.

Building this system was a rewarding challenge. I initially met with any key members of the team that would be able to utilize it, making note of assets or features I could add to make everyone's role easier.

This UI design system, paired with the brand guidelines, has served as a priceless tool in working on the Data Zoo brand.
